SPRINGFIELD – State Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) has been asked by Senate Republican Leader John Curran (R-Downers Grove) to continue as a member of the Senate Leadership Team in the role of Republican Whip in recognition of her dedicated and effective advocacy for the people of Illinois.

“It’s my honor to be asked by Leader Curran to continue in my leadership role as Senate Republican Whip,” said Tracy. “I enjoy working on the Senate Leadership Team to guide legislation and set policies that improve the lives of Illinoisans, such as much-needed budgetary and structural reforms to fix state government’s inefficiencies.”

Tracy is a leader on crucial issues like agricultural industry improvements, school funding reform, veterans’ issues, legislative ethics, and the reporting of sexual assault and harassment. She is also a key advocate for patient care and safety of the residents of the Illinois Veterans’ Home at Quincy.

“Sen. Tracy is a powerful voice in the Senate and a strong advocate for the western Illinois communities she serves so well,” Leader Curran said. “She is a hard-working lawmaker who brings to our leadership team a wealth of legislative knowledge and keen insight into complex state issues.
