An upcoming seminar has officially been scheduled for Eastern Illinois University retirees, retired teachers, and retired state workers in Charleston, according to State Senator Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet). The seminar is designed to help with the process of open enrollment for retiree healthcare.
The TRAIL (Total Retiree Advantage Illinois) seminar will be held on November 21st, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Eastern Illinois University Grand Ballroom (located in the University Union) in Charleston.
“The process of signing up for new plans can be extremely confusing, especially with changes happening with providers,” said Senator Rose. “I would encourage our retirees to take advantage of this seminar so that they fully understand the changes coming their way compliments of the Pritzker administration’s decision to only offer a single plan to retirees. Private sector retirees can choose from any number of plans, but Gov. Pritzker saw fit to only provide a single plan for state retirees. There are changes to prescription plan choices as well, so folks really need to come out and get their questions answered.”
The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) initially hadn’t scheduled one of the events near EIU. Rose demanded CMS add a seminar in Coles County to help the large population of retirees there – and last week the agency agreed.
