The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) has launched Illinois Grown, a new initiative aimed at connecting consumers with locally sourced products. The Illinois Grown logo will appear on items grown or produced in Illinois, making it easier for consumers to support local farmers and businesses.

Consumers are encouraged to take the Illinois Grown pledge, committing to spend $10 a week on locally produced items. Those who take the pledge will receive a free reusable bag or sticker.

The program offers key benefits for local businesses:

Increased Visibility: Gain exposure through statewide marketing efforts.
Targeted Reach: Connect with consumers who prioritize local sourcing.
No Extra Cost: Participate in marketing campaigns at no additional charge.

Retailers can also join the movement by showcasing Illinois Grown products in their stores and receiving free promotional materials.
